Community outreach project -

  • Enjoyed a trip to the local café and purchased their own drink and cake.

  • Cleaned and maintained the war memorial.

  • Collected apples from the local community gardens.

  • Swept some of the local lanes to keep the village tidy.

  • Delivered different food and items to the local food bank.

  • Collected, cleaned and sold eggs at the local coffee morning in the village.

  • Cleaned and maintained the church yard.



Forestry sessions -

  • Fire making, using the correct tools safely.

  • Learnt how to Plant, grow and harvest different vegetables.

  • Learnt how to build a den in the woods.

  • Cooking different items around the campfire (smores, toasting marshmallows, soup and much more)

  • Whittled dogs out of branches.

  • Harvested blackberries and made into a crumble.

  • Identified different types of trees and how they differ from others.

  • Students have worked towards their forestry stamp booklet.



Animals -

  • Students have given a warm welcome to Ava the dog. She has settled in very quickly and the students love spending time with her.

  • Floss has been working hard as our therapy pony. From walks to obstacle courses, she is always there supporting our students.

  • Poppet has worked hard during her pig agility sessions. Students enjoyed trying to get her through the tunnel.



Halloween -

  • Enjoyed different Halloween based arts and crafts.

  • Decorated spooky biscuits.

  • Carved pumpkins that the students grew themselves.








Weekly events -

Children in need week - Students completed children in need based worksheets, enjoyed making their own fund raising boxes to gain more of an understanding surrounding children in need. They were able to raise a total of £50. Our students also enjoyed some more interactive fun activities like "bear pong" a bit of group engagement and fun.





Hiking week - Students were able to use a map and learn invaluable life skills. Walking on average 3 miles, enjoying the scenery and learning about how we can

respect the community and wildlife.







Nature art week - During our hiking off site, students collected different nature items and enjoyed using their imagination to create some amazing art work. They then competed against one another for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place and they gained a prize.




Scarecrow competition - Students took part in creating their very own scarecrows and loved having them all on display. Thank you to Toby for being our scarecrow mascot.
